In the Tri-County, Washington Township would likely be paired up with other large Group 4 schools Williamstown, Kingsway, Clearview and Timber Creek. Both of those schools are in the Cape-Atlantic League. It’s a big move, literally, for Washington Township, which has the third largest enrollment of any school in South Jersey behind Vineland and Egg Harbor Township. There aren’t expected to be any hurdles, but no date on when Washington Township officially can join officially the Tri-County until the voting takes place. The Tri-County is expected to vote on the matter at its policy meeting in October, The Olympic will also vote in October on Township’s departure. The Minutemen and Minutemaids hope to be marching over the Tri-County Conference in the near future, after competing for over five decades in the Olympic Conference. Washington Township High School athletics are looking for some new digs closer to home.
